Antique Victorian Buckle Ring
Antique Victorian Buckle Ring

The Victorian and Art Deco eras are my two favorite periods of jewelry making. Art Deco because of its clean lines and geometry, and the Victorian because of its completely unabashed romantic sentimentality and symbolism. I want to be cool and minimalist (clean lines), but can definitely fall into over-the-top florid mushiness and look for meaning and symbols in everything... aka very Victorian.
The symbolism behind the buckle ring is quite romantic: two sides coming together as one representing fidelity and unbreakable bonds. This 18 karat antique stunner could be an excellent alternative wedding or engagement ring, or, maybe you just like big belt buckles and western wear... either way, you win! It's 120 years old, and other than some light wear to the back of the band, it is in great shape. It will definitely last at least another lifetime, and become an heirloom piece you can pass down.
