A solid and sturdy striking statement piece! A truly cool vintage turquoise and sterling silver ring with excellent texture and character. The rugged and craggy turquoise rests within a refined, decorative setting that makes for a weighty and truly special vintage piece.
The stamping along the sides of the ring is slightly worn but in high relief, with two V shapes that could symbolize mountains, a round radiating sun, ridged curving shapes that could be feathers or jaw bones, and an arrow down the center. The exact symbolism of the decorative elements is of course open to interpretation, but it’s a very attractive, cohesive design and feels protective and hopeful to me.
The turquoise itself is very much a unique specimen with nooks & crannies, cracks & divots, and hills & valleys. The color is a really pretty lagoon-like green-blue, with veining of tan and darker brown. This veining is called “the matrix” and is the remnant of the host rock the turquoise formed in.
This ring feels altogether super special!! A sturdy statement piece with the genuine feeling of a story, a solid history and good age to it.
