A dainty 14K yellow gold chain studded with pretty white cultured pearls. This style of necklace where gems are spaced out along a chain are often called station necklaces, you see them with diamonds or sapphires quite often. This chain is unusual, each of the l links are shaped almost like little closed parentheses. {} Hence the name!

In some circles of the jewelry world, a pearl station necklace has become colloquially known as a "Tin Cup" necklace because Rene Russo wore one in the Kevin Costner movie. Apparently that necklace set off a fire storm and the style was all the rage in the late 90s. As a high schooler at that time, I was not paying attention, but I am here for it now!

The necklace measures 18 inches long, with the drop from largest pearl adding an additional inch and a half. The largest pearl at the center of the piece measures approximately 6mm in diameter, the smaller pearls on the chain and the drop vary slightly in size and shape, they measure about 4mm each. Each pearl has a nice luster and all are in the same range of bright white color.

This is a very pretty and sweet necklace that adds ton of texture and interest to an outfit. It really looks great on its own, but if you want to layer it up and pair it with a smaller, shorter chain that would look cool too. It would make a great gift for anyone who likes to wear their pearls in a slightly subversive way.
