A petite and protective pendant that was once a broken brooch! This conversion piece really got a glow up, it was a originally a bar pin in pretty rough shape. I loved the look of turquoise and pearl, always a classic combination, plus the eye motif and the white enamel detail and I was hopeful the design could live on in a new way. The original pin was missing one little round pearl and the other was barely hanging on. New white seed pearls add a very bright luster that makes the piece feel much more alive. The bright turquoise cabochon and the glowy pear-shaped pearl drop are original to the piece and both are in very good condition.
We clipped the pin so that the pendant was more true to the eye shape, and added a vintage rose gold chain. The tiny gold polka dots on the white enamel just kill me! I love the pearl “tear drop” coming from the eye, too. 🥲
Traditional evil eye designs are such a graphic, cool look but can have a certain amount of fear and intensity about them. This piece feels talismanic but in a sweeter, softer way.
