Wow, this is such a pretty gem! A pool of oceanic tranquility in a very unique shape.
The stone is the real star of the show here, obviously. An aquamarine cabochon with such pretty color and depth to it. It can be kind of a moody blue-gray in shadows but really stuns when the sun hits it. You see an almost silky effect when the sun hits the interior and at the right angle you can see the internal growth lines of the stone. Such a specimen!
This ring is handmade and there are some wonky little imperfections that I find quite charming, knowing how hard setting a marquis gemstone is! One end of the setting is a little pinched at the very the tip of the ring. There is a small dent in one side of the bezel. Overall it is such a cool stone with such great color and so much interest that I don't think anyone will be looking at those little flaws.
The stone sits up off the hand proudly with a statement-but-not-too-tall profile. A closed back setting protects the stone, which rests within a solid sterling silver setting. A nice hefty band wraps around the back of your finger and keeps the ring steady on your hand. This is a unique and very cool ring- it feels good, the color has a calming feel to it and it is a very pretty and unusual example of aquamarine. It would be suitable for anyone and everyone, but someone with a March birthday who loves the water would be a perfect fit!
