Last year for Christmas I had a similar silver chain (now sold to a lovely client) that I had updated with rose gold components and honestly I have never stopped thinking about. I've had this mariner link chain for a while and although the links are so cool and textural and hefty, it was a tad too short. So, I revisited a favorite design and added an antique rose gold dog clip and a vintage silver dog clip to this vintage mariner aka “gucci” chain.
Luckily we don’t have to worry about our new friends getting along with our old pals- silver and rose gold get on famously! I added the dog clips to add a bit of length to make this more wearable as a necklace, but also because, if you don’t know yet- I love antique 9K rose gold. I also love mixed metals (and how the two dog clips look like they're holding hands)! Two-tone, and too good!
Your new favorite daily driver that looks great on its own or mixed in with longer pieces. Both of the clips have a swivel base, which means the chain rolls effortlessly between the two clasps, moves with you, and feels extra comfortable on the body. You could easily stack up a charm or two to one of the clips if you wanted to! A very easy necklace to wear, and one I hope you'll wear for a long time!
