A very sweet antique charm: a Victorian era Lovers Knot featuring a tiny, sparkling white diamond. This charm has been converted from a stick pin! Stick pins were originally used by the upper classes in the Georgian era, they would have been used to secure ties, scarves, cravats. Worn mostly by men, as one of the only pieces of jewelry men were able to wear, they became more in fashion for women in the late 1890s. Due to industrialization they became more popular and common among all classes and sexes in the late 1800s through the early 1920s, before buttons and zippers were common.
In this sweet example, five texturized loops snuggle together around a bright little round diamond at their center. The Lovers Knot can symbolize infinity as there is no beginning or end to the knot. This would be a great gift for a wedding or anniversary, or for any sentimental occasion.
Antique, very good condition.
