A humdinger of a ring in sterling silver with a yellow jasper cabochon. What is jasper, you ask? Well it is basically the same thing as agate, in that it is a microcrystalline quartz, but if the stone is opaque, it's called jasper.
The particular stone is a very pretty orangey-yellow with splotches of red and darker maroon stripes- quite pretty fall colors with a yummy, nutty brown undertone.
This ring is sturdy, with excellent craftsmanship, stamped STERLING and signed JR
Uniquely carved setting with a shadowbox around the stone. This is an intentional use of negative space created between the bezel of the stone and the decorative outer edge. This very graphic design is continued with the cut outs around the stone and grooves carved into the band of the ring. I love rings like this that have a big presence on the hand while at the same time being quite low profile.
