Fringy Turquoise Dangles

Sweet little drops with fun, swingy movement. The 10 turquoise ovals are set in the "petit point" style which is attributed to the Zuni people. 

Although they look simple, these earrings are quite intricate and detailed - each piece of turquoise is cut to be the same size, and is set in individual sawtooth textured bezels. There is a subtle twisted rope detail the turquoises drop from. They were initially screw backs, an antique form of closure that was the style before pierced ears were considered acceptable.  I think the drops could be quite old, maybe 1940s, due to that fact and to the very lovely bright and saturated color of the turquoise. I converted them to pierced with a moon-like stud for the drops to dangle from- you know the motto, Vintage Jewels for Modern Times!
