When I found them, the clip on the back had been removed but the hinge from that component remained, and a very junky pair of metal ear wires were threaded through the hinge. Of course this is not exactly how the artist originally meant for them to look, but I really do applaud whoever came up with that fairly ingenious alteration to convert them to a pierced earring. I removed the earwires, added a jump ring and a sturdier pair of sterling wires with a snap back. I genuinely love the arch shape that these earrings have and now that they dangle down a little lower than the ear lobe makes that shape more obvious.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMy intermediate level repair skills aside- let's talk about the stones!!!! Super cool and graphic turquoise slabs with black veining are inlayed into the silver frame. Each slab is divided by a dark agate line down the middle of the arch.
